Dr. Devin Cromartie Bodrick, M.D., M.P.H. is the wife of Pastor Willie Bodrick, II, and mother to their vibrant toddler, Willie Bodrick, III. Before God called her to service at the Historic Twelfth Baptist Church, He called her to the ministry of medicine and mental health.
First Lady Bodrick grew up in Prince Georges County, Maryland, and graduated from Howard University with summa cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa honors with her Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in 2012. At Howard, she was initiated into the Alpha Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated. She went on the receive her Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) from Harvard Medical School, and her Master of Public Health (M.P.H.) from Harvard TH Chan School of Public Health in 2017.
Dr. Cromartie Bodrick is currently a psychiatry resident-physician at Boston Medical Center. Her ultimate goal in psychiatry and public health is to combat health inequities that affect African Americans and other disenfranchised populations. Her interests include community-based research, implementation science, substance use disorders, and the intersections between religion/spirituality and mental health.
As First Lady of Twelfth Baptist Church, Dr. Cromartie Bodrick’s focus is on tending to her husband as he tends to the needs of the church. She is also an active member of the church, as she is currently on the ministry for Christian Education, and on the Executive Committee of the Church Women’s Fellowship. Because God has called her to the ministry of medicine and mental health, she hopes to serve the church in this capacity. She strongly believes that churches should take care of the holistic needs of the community – spiritual, mental, and physical.
