TWELFTH BAPTIST CHURCH
VISION STATEMENT
:
Build a Ministry that will build people of Purpose, Power, Praise and Prayer.

SCRIPTURE:
Matthew 6:9-13 9 “Pray, then, in this way: ‘Our Father who is in heaven, Hallowed be Your name. 10 ‘Your kingdom comes. Your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. 11 ‘Give us this day our daily bread. 12 ‘And forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. 13 ‘And do not lead us into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one. For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.”

WHAT WE BELIEVE OUR CORE VALUES:
Core values are the underlying principles that guide a church in making decisions, determining priorities, setting goals, allocating resources, and carrying out programs plus define who we are and how we choose to live as a church. They are not biblical doctrines themselves, but they are drawn from biblical teachings.

We believe in One God
We believe in one God, the sovereign Creator and sustainer of all things, infinitely perfect and eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. To Him are all honor, glory, and praise forever.
Gen. 1:1; Jer. 10:10; Matt. 6:9; Rom. 8: 14-15; 1 Cor. 8:6; Eph. 4:6; Ex. 20:3

We believe in the Authority of Scripture
We believe the Bible is the inspired written Word of God and is the guide for Christian faith and practice. God’s message in the scripture is true, trustworthy and without error.
Deut. 4:1-2; Matt. 5:17-18; Luke 21: 33; Tim. 3:15-17; Heb. 4:12; 2 Peter 1:19-21; Ps.130: 5

Ordinances of the Church
Baptism in Water: We believe that all who repent and believe in Christ are to be baptized by immersion. Baptism is a public profession of faith in Christ. It is symbolic of the death, burial and resurrection of Christ. It is a declaration to the world that we have died to sin and have been raised with Christ to walk in newness of life.
Matthew 28:19; Romans 6:4

Taking of Communion:
We believe that the Lord’s Table consists of two elements: the bread and cup: those elements are symbolic of the body and blood of Christ. Communion is a memorial of Christ’s suffering on the cross and a celebration of our salvation. It is an opportunity for us as believers to examine ourselves and experience forgiveness.
1 Corinthians 11:27-29

We believe in prayer
We believe in the power of prayer. Through prayer the lives of the people, the church, communities, and nations can be changed, bringing salvation, healing, comfort, and other gifts from God. We therefore encourage all members of the church family to be faithful in both personal and corporate prayer life.
Matt. 6: 5-15; 21:22; Mark 11:24-25; Eph. 6:18-20; James 5: 15-16

We believe in Bible-Centered Preaching and Teaching
We believe that the primary source for all teaching and preaching is the Scriptures, which are inspired by God without error and are used in all age-areas to teach, rebuke, correct and train in righteousness.
Acts 2:42; Ephesians 4:16; 2 Timothy 2:15; 2 Timothy 3:16-17; Colossians 2:19; John 16:13-14

We believe in Godly Leadership:
We believe in Godly leadership. We expect both pastoral and lay-leadership to maintain a high standard of Christian living and example. We expect our leaders to continually seek to grow through on-going education and mentoring.
Proverbs 27:17; James 3:1, Heb.13: 17

We believe in Faithful Stewardship:
We believe God is the source of all blessings. We believe that God’s people should support God’s work with our tithes and offerings, cheerfully, regularly, systematically, proportionately, and liberally according to our means for the work of God, beginning here in the local church for furthering God’s kingdom here and around the world.
2 Corinthians 8-9; Malachi 3:10; Luke 16:10-13; Matthew 6:19-21;
1 John 3:17-18; 1 Timothy 6:17-19; 1 Corinthians 4:1-2

We believe in Praise and Worship
We believe in striving to exalt Christ in every area of our lives by acknowledging God’s supreme worth through times of individual and corporate worship. We desire these times of worship to lead each of us to a personal encounter with God that reinforces our love for Him.
Matthew 22:37-39; Heb 13:15; Ps.68: 19; Jn. 4:24; Ps 95:6

We believe in Evangelism and Missions:
We believe and value Great Commission evangelism as God’s redemptive purpose through which our city, state, nation and world can be changed by the gospel of Jesus Christ.
Matt 28:18-20; Acts 1:8; IITim.4: 5, Acts8: 35

We believe in seeking for The Lost:
We believe we are to pray, share, serve and rely upon the Holy Spirit to reach all people to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ. We believe in using every available Christ-honoring means to pursue them for Christ, to win them for Christ, and disciple them to serve Christ.
Acts 2:40-4; Acts 2:47, Mk.16: 15-16, Matt 28:18-20

We believe in the Gift of the family
We believe and celebrate God’s gift of the family, and we are dedicated to a ministry of prevention rather than intervention to prepare our children for the future.
Mark 10:13-16, Proverbs 22:6, Acts 16:31; 10:2
